Don Yenko is most known for his COPO Camaros or Yenko Camaros.
Don Yenko is in the National Corvette Museum Hall of Fame because of his years of racing Corvettes! Don was a avid Corvette racer years before he created and developed his 427 Yenko SC Camaros. His most famous racing Corvettes were sponsored by the DX Oil company and were known as his Sunray DX Corvettes. Don and his team raced these Corvettes from 1967 to 1969 at many famous tracks such as Sebring, Daytona, Watkins Glen, Riverside, and War Bonnet Raceway. These races have all been documented with race records and photography from the actual events.
The DX sponsored Corvettes that he raced can all be found in Corvette Racing Legends. Most of these photos have not been previously published, so the text and the photos will be new to even the most avid racing enthusiast. Did you know that Don Yenko was a team driver for the Owens Corning Corvette team and also for the BF Goodrich Corvette team of John Greenwood? You can see it all in my book!
