Penske L88 Corvette
One of the most famous Corvettes was the Penske Corvette. Roger Penske began racing in the fifties with a Corvette. Did you know that? He drove several types of racing cars, and one of the last cars he drove was a Corvette Grand Sport at Nassau 1964. Roger retired on top and moved on with his business career as a Chevrolet Dealership owner. Despite being a business owner, he still had the racing bug. He heard about a new racing option for the Corvette, and quicly got on board. His 1966 prototype L88 Corvette which was raced at the 1966 24 Hours of Daytona and shortly thereafter, at the 1966 12 Hours of Sebring. This Corvette would race at even more major events during its racing days. This Corvette would encourage other racers such as Don Yenko, Tony DeLorenzo, John Greenwood, and many others to purchase their own L88 Corvette for racing.
